Kamal Sewaralthahab, MD, NEP, CMD
President of Synergy Medical Group
Dr. Kamal Sewaralthahab graduated with high honors from King Saud University, College of Medicine and moved to the US where he became a Nephrology and Hypertension postdoctoral research fellow at Tufts University/St. Elizabeth Medical Center. During that time, Dr. Sewaralthahab was involved in research studies investigating the effects of antihypertensive drugs and bicarbonate therapy on patients with chronic kidney disease.
Dr. Sewaralthahab then completed his residency in internal medicine at Tufts University/St. Elizabeth Medical Center, and Nephrology and Hypertension fellowship at Boston University/ Boston Medical Center. He is board certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Nephrology.
Dr. Sewaralthahab moved to Maryland where he joined a multi-specialty large medical practice as the Director of the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. Thereafter he established a renal practice serving across the healthcare spectrum from hospital acute care through subacute care/long term care
Dr. Sewaralthahab is a CMD and active member of the Society of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine and currently leads multiple programs across the state of Maryland tasked with management and prevention of progression of chronic diseases, with a focus on outcome and quality of life improvement in this patient population.
Aisha Alizai, PA-C
Vice President of Clinical Operations
Aisha Alizai, PA is a dedicated and accomplished Physician Assistant with over a decade of experience in critical care and post-acute care medicine. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2010, followed by a Master’s degree from Towson University's Physician Assistant program in 2012.
Aisha has been instrumental in the establishment and development of two Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in Maryland, showcasing her expertise and leadership in critical care. In 2022, she transitioned to post-acute care, where she continues to make significant contributions to patient care and clinical outcomes.
Currently, Aisha serves as the Vice President of Clinical Operations at SMG, where she leverages her extensive experience and knowledge to provide exceptional care for patients and leverages best practices into operational improvements. Her commitment to excellence and patient-centered approach has made her a respected leader and a valued member of the healthcare community.
Nabila Shaukat
Executive Practice Administrator
Nabila is a dedicated Executive Practice Administrator with extensive experience in human resources, team leadership, and employee relations. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Family Science from the University of Maryland, she combines a deep understanding of human development and psychology with her HR expertise to cultivate a high-performance culture that drives organizational success.
Over the course of her career, Nabila has overseen a broad spectrum of HR functions, including talent acquisition, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, and onboarding. She has worked with organizations of varying sizes; successfully leading HR initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction, streamline processes, and increase efficiency. Nabila is passionate about building inclusive, innovative work environments that empower individuals to succeed and contribute to the long-term goals of the organization.
